Stab./NJG 1, G9+AA, February 1945

Nachtjagdgeschwader 1, Stabsstaffel
Husum, Germany
Oberstlt. Hans-Joachim Jabs

Equipped with radar FuG 220 Lichtenstein SN-2 with its distinctive "Hirschgeweih" (stag’s antlers) antenna and with Schräge Musik, an upward-firing system using twin 30 mm MK 108 cannons, designed to ambush Allied bombers from below.
Markings: Tactical code "G9+AA" (blue) indicates NJG 1, specifically the 1st Staffel (1./NJG 1). The Triple Chevron (Kommodore insignia) suggests it was the Geschwaderkommodore's aircraft (Stab./NJG 1). However, the blue "A" marking typically belonged to the 1st Staffel (1./NJG 1), not the Geschwaderstab, which would usually have green or yellow markings.
